With the economy in the proverbial toilet (when did that become a proverb?), who could resist a night to have your kids go around begging for free candy?

Fortunately we bought enough and didn't have to dip into our kid's stash.

Pumpkins carved 2008: 6
Pumpkins carved 2007: 4

We tried to branch out from the stencils this year, but still got the most compliments on Boo and Batman. Man, these kids today. No sense of artistic license.

Best Horror Movie Seen: Leprechaun 4: In Space

Okay, so we only saw bits and pieces of it, but it's the Leprechaun! In space!

Best Halloween Brew:
Rogue Dead Guy Ale

Okay, so I like this year 'round, but this came in a growler that had a glow-in-the-dark label. You read that right. The only four words that could make Dead Guy better. Glow. In. The Dark.

Logan's Candy Handing-Out Skillz:
10 out of 10

He was all over it this year. Leaping off the couch at every knock, his banter was natural and compelling. "I like your costume!" "You're Superman!" "Hey guys. Here you go." "Happy Halloween to YOU!"

I need to take serious notes for next year. That kid knows how to rock the front door.

Number of TIE Fighter strollers:
1

One awesome one. Complete with Darth Liam.

We All Go A Little Mad Sometimes

Raven Mad Imperial Porter

Raven Mad Imperial Porter by Bridgeport Brewing. It's aged in bourbon and red wine casks and has a 3-D label. I believe the appropriate descriptive word for this would be coo-freakin'-ool.
