LEGO Battlebots

The favorite activity around here lately has been building LEGO Battlebots. Wendy and I passed on our love of robot combat to our eldest son. Combine that with his interest in LEGOs and, WHAM!, brick battles.

We've even created a cardboard box arena. Here are some bots we've made. Some are his original designs and some are a combination. Regardless, his bots have quite the impressive win percentage.

Whacker

My favorite design of his. Blade at the front from a Star Wars ship.

Blade Tail

Complete original design. I love it. Name is self-explanatory. I think it would only be more self-explanatory if it was called "Battlebot Built Out of LEGOs with a Blade in the Back."

Glider 1

Called Glider because it used to have wings on it. Then it got modified but retained the name. Wouldn't want to confuse the fans.

Bang

Hammer from Harleyquinn's Hammer truck. This one was a combo design.

Flip Over

Simple and elegant. It works the same when it gets flipped over on its back.

The Cheater

Wendy's design. It has an EMP gun at the front and the guy at the top shoots lasers. The fatal flaw is the weak point on the back that inexplicably shuts it down completely. Cheaters never win.

Side Swipe

My thwackbot.

Platybeetle

Part platypus, part beetle, all awesome.
